DTR

Direct to Rust Industrial Metal Primer
Inorganic zinc is one of the best rust inhibitors available, but before you can apply it, you have to sandblast the metal to remove the rust. In many cases, such as with light gauge metal or awkward projects, sandblasting is not possible or practical. With DTR, you have the rust inhibitive capabilities of inorganic zinc without the wear and tear on the metal. This metal primer, manufactured by SUNLIFE Systems International, Inc. is a moisture cured polyurethane that inhibits corrosion by forming a chemical bond with the water in the rust.

DTR Industrial Metal Primer is recommended for galvanized steel, structural steel, storage tanks, power plant equipment, petro-chemical plants, pulp and paper mills and other corrosive environments. A unique blend of metal pigments, DTR far exceeds the life expectancy of most shop primers, such as zinc chromates, iron oxides, and gray metal primers. DTR is applied directly to the rusted area and actually uses the rust itself in the curing process.
