The following specifications should be used in for the proper application of the SUNLIFE Roofing System™. Failure to properly follow the specifications will jeopardize the quality of the installation leading to warranty problems in the future. Shortcuts to save labor time now will cost you warranty time, materials, and labor later.

SEAM & 2 COAT SPECIFICATIONS

1. Clean roof thoroughly with pressure wash 1500 psi.


2. Roof must be completely dry and free of visible defects such as cracks, blisters, opened seams and similar defects.


3. On mechanically-fastened single ply roofs, repair all loose screw fasteners utilizing standards set forth in the roofing industry.


4. Repair all defects found with SUNLIFE Roofing Compound™ (SRC 1-gray) and 6" Tape, as follows:

a. Apply base coat of SRC 1-gray at a rate of one (1) gallon per square (8 mils dry film thickness) to the length of defective area.

b. Embed 6" Tape along length of defective area.

c. Apply second coat of SRC 1-gray to top of Tape at a rate of one (1) gallon per square (8 mils dry film thickness).


5. All seams, including defective areras, are to be prepped as follows.

a. Apply a base coat of SRC 1-gray along length of seam at a rate of one (1) gallon per square (8 mils dry film thickness).

b. Embed 6" Tape along length of seam.

c. Apply second coat of SRC 1-gray to top of Tape at a rate of one (1) gallon per square (8 mils dry film thickness).


6. Allow all repaired areas to dry a minimum of 24 hours or until thoroughly dry.


7. Apply first coat (SRC 1-white) to surface of entire roof, including repaired areas at the rate of two (2) gallons per square (16 mils dry film thickness).


8. Allow first coat to dry a minimum of 24 hours or until thoroughly dry (when foot traffic is possible).


9. Apply topcoat (SRC1.50-white) to roof at a rate of two (2) gallons per square (16 mils dry film thickness).
