The
following specifications should be used in for the proper application
of the SUNLIFE Roofing System. Failure to properly follow the specifications
will jeopardize the quality of the installation leading to warranty problems
in the future. Shortcuts to save labor time now will cost you warranty
time, materials, and labor later.
METAL ROOF SPECIFICATIONS:
1. Tighten all loose fasteners
and replace missing fasteners. Oversized ones may be needed.
2. Clean area thoroughly
using SSPC hand cleaning followed by a wash coat or pressure wash.
3. Prime all
rusty areas with SUNLIFE "Direct to Rust" metal primer.
4. At all joints,
seams, and protrusions, apply a "butter coat" Sunlife Roofing Compound
with Rust Inhibitor.
5. Into the wet material,
embed flexible mat broomed so as to conform to the surrounding contour.
6. Apply top dressing SUNLIFE
Roofing Compound with Rust Inhibitor to all joints and protrusions.
7. Apply one (1) coat SUNLIFE
Roofing Compound with Inhibitor to the entire roof surface at a rate
of one (1) gallon per square. Material may be sprayed, brushed, or rolled.
In the event that there are screw heads or nails present, brooming is
preferred.
8. Apply second coat SUNLIFE
Roofing Compound with Inhibitor at a rate of one (1) gallon per square.
