The
following specifications should be used in for the proper application
of the SUNLIFE Roofing SystemTM. Failure to properly follow the specifications
will jeopardize the quality of the installation leading to warranty problems
in the future. Shortcuts to save labor time now will cost you warranty
time, materials, and labor later.
1. Clean the area thoroughly.
Remove all loose gravel and debris.
2. Repair all visible defects,
splits, blisters, etc., utilizing standards set forth by the roofing industry.
3. Apply liberal
coat Elastic Roof Sealer at a rate of 10 - 13 gallons per square or so,
to allow squeegied material to flow easily over the tops of embedded rock,
(200 - 250 mils theoretical film build).
4. Embed flexible mat into
wet material, lightly brooming to insure proper lamination. NOTE: Some
wrinkling may occur when the material is lightly broomed; however, this
poses no problems to the waterproofing characteristics of the system.
5. Apply first
coat SUNLIFE Roofing Compound at a rate of two (2) gallons per
square, (theoretical film build, 24 mils).
6. Apply second coat SUNLIFE
Roofing Compound at a rate of two (2) gallons per square, (theoretical
film build, 24 mils).
7. All flashings
and counter flashings to receive a base coat SUNLIFE Roofing Compound,
flexible mat and two (2) coats SUNLIFE Roofing Compound to a total
film of 80 mils.
