The SUNLIFE Roofing System™ is Factory Mutual Research Corporation approved. Factory Mutual periodically inspects facilities to ensure the quality and uniformity of the materials are maintained and performance is at an acceptable level. Factory Mutual inspects the SUNLIFE System in the following categories:
1.Spread of Flame -- (Inspection yielded "Class A")
2. Simulated Hail Damage -- (Inspection yielded "Pass")
3. Resistance to foot traffic -- (Inspection yielded "No evidence of damage")
4. Susceptibility to leakage test -- (Inspection yielded "No signs of water leakage. Permeability 0.003 perms per ASTM E 96 BW)
5. Wind uplift -- (Inspection yielded "Fully adhered; no change in classification)
The SUNLIFE Roofing System™ meets or exceeds the ASTM D-6083 for liquid applied coatings. After many years, the industry accepted a standard that allows all products marketed as "elastomeric acrylic roof coatings" to be compared to a battery of specific tests. The ASTM D-6083 involves such tests as adhesion, viscosity, solids by weight and volume, accelerated weathering, elongation, tensile strength, fungus resistance, water swelling permeance, and low temperature flexibility. In order to be ASTM certified as an elastomeric acrylic roof coating, the product must meet or exceed ALL the requirements of the above tests.
The SUNLIFE Roofing Compound was one of the first products to receive this distinction, and was certified in December 1997.
The SUNLIFE Roofing System™ also carries the Energy Star label, an rating system developed by the United States' Environmental Protection Agency. To be Energy Star approved, roofing products must help reduce energy costs. Actual savings are based on geographic location and individual building characteristics.
A Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) is also available, listing the chemical components that make-up the SUNLIFE Compound, and measures to be taken if problems arise.
